The Fall Participant Guide outlines rules, guidelines and other key changes from last season. The Administrative Section defines USBands membership and describes our size, classification and participation requirements. The Competitive Section deals specifically with adjudication and performance guidelines. Here you will also find our goals and philosophy which allow us to provide scholastic music programs nationwide with high quality events.
Our online management system allows directors to manage their school information and register for events in any season. Directors can create an account or log in by clicking the button below. Once you are logged in, there are three important tabs to remember:
My Info - Edit details about your personal account and contact information.
My Band - Everything in this section pertains specifically to your program, including show titles, mailing address and more.
My Events - This tab allows you to view the schedule by week and register for events.
Regional, State & National Championships
USBands Regional Championships are held throughout the regions in which USBands is currently active. A Regional Championship is composed of up to 50 competing bands and is usually held at a college or professional football facility. Bands competing at a USBands Regional Championship are evaluated by an excellent panel of adjudicators who communicate information on design and execution to band directors and instructors for use in further developing the program. Regionals usually take place in new or expanding markets.
USBands State Championships are held throughout the season based on stadium availability; however, the majority of events are held near the end of the season. In 2014, State Championships were held in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia. Bands in Connecticut, New England and Rhode Island competed in the New England State Championships, and ands from over a half-dozen states often end their season at the Southern States Championships in Chattanooga, Tenn.
USBands National Championships are held in mid-November in two separate events in the Northeast. In 2014, over 150 bands performed over the course of three days at the A Class and Open Class National Championships. The A Class Championships are traditionally held at J. Birney Crum Stadium in Allentown, Pa., and the Open Class Championships take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
